Zug Zag Fence

I grew up in Chula Vista, California, 5 miles from Tijuana, México and the border was always a place of transition, and fusion, not of restriction and closure.

This project links 3 politically contentious borders: U.S.-México, Israel-Palestine, and Loyalist-Republican interface borders in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Three places where the natural and social landscapes are being transformed into ever more technological advanced barriers only compounding the social and political failures.

While the world becomes more globally meshed, will the future be one full of millions upon millions of technologically controlled identity ghettos, or can we learn to tear down these walls both external and internal, and start building, person by person, not walls but bridges that span the length of the world.
