We can build better walls, we can
develop better bombs, but person by person, we can learn to build peace
bridges that span the length of the world. Conservatives will say this
is impossible because the reality is that they don't want to give up
their walls or their bombs. |

in foreign aid every year. The most direct and helpful foreign aid to the
neighboring countries of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua
would be to grant conditional amnesty to the estimated 12 million undocumented
workers in the United States and set up a guest worker program for these
countries. I have the utmost respect for the Border Patrol and the way
they do their job. |
